Make It Easier
Adjust the reading and the amount of help while keeping the same clues, answers and final rule.
A ready-to-use easier start
With Birthday Starship, read the opening aloud and begin Stars together. Say “Look for the word star.” Let one child touch each star while another marks it. Keep the original printed figures and badge digit; this is adult scaffolding, not a new puzzle.
Reduce working-memory demands
Keep the badge record visible throughout. For the final sheet, place it immediately beside the recorded digits. Read each badge name aloud in the printed order, and let a child point to the matching number. The group still performs the final combination.
- Read the prompt once, then ask the child to repeat the goal
- Cover unrelated pages temporarily
- Use level 1 hints at the start if wanted
- Trace routes with a pencil
- Keep the final badge order visible
- Pause and return later without a failure message
Choose by exact age
The catalogue has an exact age filter. A game recommended for 7–9 overlaps both broad age collections, but the age-6 filter excludes it. Choose the actual recommended range rather than assuming every game on a collection page fits the youngest child.
